Eric didn’t think that when he had the idea to start a volleyball team in college, that it would lead him to meet the most beautiful girl with long, dark curls he had ever seen. Elisabeth wasn’t super keen on joining the new volleyball group at Baylor University, but after some begging from her friends, she agreed to do it. Walking onto the same court that semester was the very start of their story together.
After getting to know each other a little better, they officially started dating a year after that first volleyball game. They spent time on the same campus and going on dates until Eric graduated and took a job in Dallas. This meant spending the weeks apart and long drives to see each other on the weekends.
Not longer after this change in distance, Eric started planning and building. The only perk of Elisabeth not being close, was that she didn’t find out what he was building in his garage. In early September, it was finally complete. That weekend, Eric took Elisabeth to Baylor’s campus, the spot that was the start of their story together, and led her to a tree with a the swing he had made. It shared the green and yellow colors of other Baylor swings on campus, but this beautiful wooden swing was hanging from woven ropes and was only for her. He got down on one knee and with a gold solitaire engagement ring he asked Elisabeth to marry him. It was an emphatic yes and a weekend of celebrating with their families!
Elisabeth and Eric, it was such a joy to capture your relationship together during this engagement session! You two are the perfect match and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate your wedding with you in July at the Grand Ivory!
