Romantic European-Inspired Engagement Session // Austin, TX – Maddie & Evan

A friend crashing your first date to Chick-Fil-A….doesn’t sound like it would be the perfect start that it was. Maddie had first seen Evan across the room in a college class – he was laughing with friends, handsome, and not at all shy. They were in a mutual friend group, and while Maddie kept eyeing him, they remained friends since Evan was dating someone else. After Thanksgiving, Evan came back to school single and that first date was the start of forever for them.

Two years later, Evan had bought a ring and was trying to squeeze in a proposal before Christmas. Finals were coming up and they were both working long hours at the same coffee shop. Maddie was exhausted, so Evan told her that he would take her 4am shift the next day – she could sleep in, get her nails done with a friend, and enjoy a morning off. Maddie gratefully agreed and enjoyed the next morning. Little did she know Evan had reached out to us weeks before for this day so that we could capture him popping the question.

After Evan got off work, he picked up Maddie and suggested they go to Magnolia Market to do some last minute Christmas shopping. After procuring cupcakes at the bakery, they were walking across the main lawn when Evan took off his hat.

Our hearts skipped a beat.

That was our cue.

Setting his hat down, Evan got down on one knee and pulled out the ring from his pocket. Maddie was shocked, holding her cupcake box and crying. It was one of the best moments we’ve ever witnessed.

Maddie and Evan, you two are a perfect match together from your humor to your values. We couldn’t be more excited to celebrate you from getting engaged, to capturing these engagement photos, to anticipating your wedding day in a couple of months!
