One of the best things about college greek life is who you end up meeting through the social events. Turns out that for Paige and Monte, it would be a very important meeting. During their junior year of college at Texas A&M, they realized that all of their friends in their respective fraternity and sorority were dating – so why not give it a try? Five years later, they were still going strong so Monte was making plans.
Their 5 year anniversary of being together was coming up in October and they always did something to celebrate so Monte knew this would be the perfect time to plan a proposal without Paige getting too suspicious. He made plans for the evening, but kept most of the details of what they would be doing from Paige.
That evening, Monte told her they were going out for drinks and dinner. All dressed up, they walked up to the restaurant that had a park right next to it. He started leading her towards the park, telling her it was an outdoor bar. In the park was a beautiful gazebo decorated with roses. That’s when Paige knew this wasn’t just drinks and dinner.
As he walked her over to the gazebo, he told her how much she meant to him and all of the sweet sentiments he had imagined telling her in this moment. Just a couple of steps away from the gazebo, he got down on one knee and opened a ring box.
Paige’s family, who had been planning with Monte the whole time, brought out champagne bottles and the evening of celebration began!
Paige and Monte, you two have made it through college, long distance dating, job changes, and more. We couldn’t be more excited to celebrate your wedding next winter at On the Levee!
