Being young and married is one of our biggest joys in life! Having found the person who is your best friend and the one you love most early on is something we will always appreciate. We have loved getting to experience so many early adventures and parts of life together. It is so fun to get to share similarities and laughs with other young married couples as well! Our sweet and dear friends Candace and Carey are one of those couples. They met at Westmont College like Kameron and I and just celebrated their first wedding anniversary together this December.
We had been trying to plan a weekend together for several months. Unfortunately, we kept having to re-schedule because of how busy life gets for us all. When it got re-scheduled to January however, Kam and I couldn’t resist suggesting the idea of doing an anniversary session for them! Being the great sports that they are, they humored us as we put them in front of our cameras for two hours.
We even knocked out two birds with one stone by doing the session in Yosemite – 1) Candace had never been and Carey had been wanting to show her this gorgeous place since they met! and 2) How much more majestic of a location can you get for a romantic anniversary session?? Win Win! While Kam and I were anticipating and so excited for a snowy Yosemite experience, the valley floor was snow-free. We were all a little disappointed, BUT there were beautiful layers of snow adorning Half Dome and the other higher peaks! This provided a gorgeous backdrop without the downsides of snow such as driving with chains, fingers numb from the cold, etc.
To our wonderful friends Carey and Candace – what a gift it was to spend a weekend together (finally!) As Candace said, our friendship with you is like a breath of fresh air. We laughed so hard, ate such yummy food, bonded over stories, and dreamed of what the future might hold for all of us. These photos capture the purity and joy found in your marriage together. You’ve celebrated a whole year together as husband and wife, but also as best friends. We know that you will celebrate a lifetime together and we’re so excited to be a part of your life along the way. No matter what the future holds for all of us and what dreams become a reality, we are honored to be a part of your lives right now and we love you both so much!
