Kameron loves to get away for the weekend, whether it’s somewhere thirty minutes away or five hours. Being only a couple hour drive away, Yosemite was a perfect option for one of these weekends. Since the weather at our home decides to remain stubbornly “un-wintery” we planned our overnight trip for December anticipating snow and gloriously cold temperatures. Well, we got cold temperatures, but unfortunately very little snow. However, the quick trip was the perfect getaway to feel warm inside our jackets while our faces were cold. We also got to see the gorgeous and iconic landscape and take some beautiful Yosemite photos.
After arriving at night, we bundled up in sleeping bags and crawled to the back of our car. We didn’t sleep too great, but well enough to awake with excited smiles and enough energy to enjoy the day! Exploring the valley in the early morning was a perk for two reasons – 1) the light was soft and dreamy and 2) hardly anyone else was around! We enjoyed our walking around, taking pictures of each other, and even setting the camera to a timer mode to get some shots together. It was such a sweet time to enjoy each other’s company, talk, laugh, dream, and appreciate the silence too.
We walked away with one definite conclusion – this is a gorgeous and iconic place for pictures and if anyone else thinks so too, we will gladly drive the couple hours to be there again with our cameras!
